With the limitations of current battery technology, notebook computers are not really as portable as many think and the majority of users tend to plug them into the nearest power point whenever possible.
Targus Australia has combated this problem with a five-model range of notebook power solutions designed to deliver power when and where needed.
The comprehensive range includes 70 and 120 watt auto/air models for real portability along with 70 and 90 watt AC adaptors for mains power. Prices range from under $150 to $249 depending on features and output.
All models are supplied with a range of connectors (power-tips) allowing them to be employed with a wide cross section of notebooks.
Flagship of the range is the Targus 70 Watt AC/DC (Combo) notebook power adaptor which can be used in the home or office and in a car, plane or boat.
Employing breakthrough electrical technology to provide the operating and/or charging power for any electronic device, including the latest and most power-hungry notebook computers, this combo adaptor can also be used as an AC Adaptor (plug into mains socket).
The $199.95 AC/DC (Combo) adaptor is also a very light (213g) and compact power source, packing neatly into the included travel pouch along with its two cords. It comes complete with a range of nine connectors (power-tips) to suit most current ranges from such manufacturers as Acer, Apple, Compaq/HP, Dell, Fujitsu, Toshiba, IBM, Sony and Panasonic.
The adaptor works with input voltages from 11 - 16 volts and is protected against over-current and short-circuits. As with all Targus power adapters, it is world-wide safety compliant and carries a two-year warranty.
