Cases that combine looks, protection and durability

Targus Australia has opened the New Year with the release of its first range of notebook cases to carry the company’s striking new logo. All designed to protect notebooks with screens up to 15.4 inches, this latest range quality of cases are constructed in tough black 840D nylon for maximum durability, but still retain the well-respected Targus styling.

There are three top-loading cases, a rolling case and a backpack in the new range, all with a padded honeycomb construction providing more than twice that of conventional foam.

The largest case in the range, the Toploading 400 Edition, has an expected retail price of $129.95. Although weighing only 1.8 kg, it includes a host of useful features and compartments for the mobile executive. Apart from the well protected notebook compartment, the case includes another to accept a second computer, printer or portable projector; a zip-down workstation with credit card holder, three pen loops, media storage and key clip.

A large file section with two dividers and a back slip pocket look after storage needs, and a hidden zippered mobile phone case and locking zippers add to security.

There are dual semi-structured handles to make the case easier to carry, a comfortable shoulder strap designed to ergonomic principles and a trolley strap for attaching the case to rolling luggage.

With slightly less accommodation, the Trademark 300 Edition has a recommended retail price of $99.95. With the same comprehensive notebook protection as the 400, it differs only in the omission of the second notebook/printer/projector section.

The 200 Edition case has a recommended retail price of $79.95. Featuring the same solid construction of the 300 and 400, this neat little top-loading case weighs in at only 1.09kg.

Along with its notebook section, the case has a zip-down workstation with business card holders, multiple accessory compartments and hidden zippered mobile phone pocket.

A back slip pocket for additional storage along with the same easy grip top handle, shoulder strap and trolley strap as its bigger brothers, complete the package.

Where the user is a regular traveller, the Trademark Toploading Roller is ideal. Along with the very protective notebook compartment, it boasts a functional zip-down workstation, multiple accessory pockets.

For the traveller, it includes two removeable zippered mesh accessory pockets as well as a 101.6cm locking trolley handle and durable urethane wheels for a smooth roll.

The Toploading Roller has a recommended retail price of $179.95.

For notebook owners who prefer a more casual style of case, the Trademark Backpack fits the bill.

Housing a padded notebook sleeve as well as a full zip down workstation compartment, this casual backpack is ideal for a student or executive to protect their notebook on the go.

Padded contoured shoulder straps and mesh lumbar back panel are designed to increase ventilation and facilitate carrying, and the case is also equipped with locking zippers and an elastic security strap for added protection. Two zippered side pockets and two water bottler holders are also included.

With an expected retail price of $99.95, the Trademark Backpack enjoys the same Targus lifetime warranty as the other models in the Trademark range.
