General Summary
|
Targus pioneered the notebook computer carrying case in 1983 and today is the leading global designer, marketer and distributor of notebook computer carrying cases and accessories. We sell our products to approximately 850 customers, reaching end-users in more than 100 countries in three distinct customer channels: notebook computer OEM's, distributors (servicing end-customers) and retailers.
Targus is seeking a Financial Analyst to prepare and analyze various financial measurements, related to working capital management, cash flow and financial statements, and creating written variance and summary analysis. The position will also develop "what if" financial models for proposed acquisitions, business unit scenarios and other significant investments. The Financial Analyst will assist in the coordination of the global annual plan process as well as strategic plans. The candidate will maintain and improve the forecasting process, monitor performance, and identify and recommend action plans that ensure that forecast accuracy, inventory targets, and financial performance are achieved.

Principle Roles and Responsibilities
|
- Interface with global offices to obtain the necessary information for the forecasting process.
- Prepare data for the generation of the baseline forecast by Major Account and Product Category and combine with qualitative data from each Global business unit to develop an enriched forecast. Management of inputs for the forecast cycle.
- Analyze monthly financial performance and provide interpretation of results.
- Maintain and update financial databases along with all inputs such as plan and forecast assumptions, customer and product details, etc.
- Recap monthly and quarterly performance identifying key variances, trends, and issues.
- Create data and process models as needed in analysis.
- Perform reporting and analysis as required to support business needs such as board presentations.

Job Specifications
|
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5-7 years experience in a financial analysis role
- MBA highly desirable
|
|
Skills and Abilities
|
- Solid understanding of financial analysis, budget planning, and forecasting
- Expert Excel/spreadsheet skills
- Hyperion knowledge a plus
- Highly detail oriented and organized
- Must be a self directed individual, have the ability to work well under time constraints and multi-task
- Strong communication skills with an ability to work with all levels of management from divisional finance to CEO
